PLWP Yuletide Essay Contest Awards Details

 

We had 18 entries and after reading each one of them, 18 winners.  Thank goodness, we had a panel of judges deciding the winners!!!  Our judges deserve our undying gratitude and admiration…it truly was a massive undertaking.

The procedure for judging the essays was as follows:

1. There were three anonymous judges (anonymous even to each other).  Only the administrators of the contest (Nan and Brenda) know who they were. 

2. As the entries were received, they were stripped of the author’s name and given an entry number.  From that point on, the authors were anonymous.
3. After reading and accessing each entry, each judge emailed us with their findings as to 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place.
4. If a conclusive judgment was not made in the first round, it was followed by a second and a third if needed.
